Agricultural Machines: the EU Market is Ready for the Economic Recovery

This is what the CEMA’s press release of the 15th of May declares, who is the committee that represent the agricultural constructors.

The European market of agricultural machinery should grow this year.

According to the document, the sales prospect is positive for the most part of the European countries, as demonstrated by CEMA’s Business Barometer that shows how the sales are constantly increasing and has registered the highest value in May, since 2012.

The first European trimester

Despite the optimistic attitude of the sector, the European market of tractors has registered in the first trimester of 2017 a decrease, even if limited of 1,3%, caused by the sharp drop of sales in France ( -25,9%), because the dimensions of the market influence the trends of the whole sector at European level.

Decrease for France, Austria and Netherlands

The tractors demand has decreased even in Austria (- 10,3%) and Netherlands (- 2,3%), meanwhile, always in the first trimester of 2017, according to the same period of the last year, has been registered an increase in Belgium (+ 4,9%), Denmark (+ 12,6%) Germany (+ 5,7%), Italy (+ 13,8%) Spain (+ 22,3%) and UK (+ 26,4%).

An increase of the demand of tractors under 50 horsepower and over 150 horsepower

With reference to power bands, the general trend, has been registered an increasing of the sales of tractors under 50 horsepower and over 150 horsepower, meanwhile the demand is law for the most part of the categories of the segment between 50 and 150 horsepower.

Another drop is expected for the demand of presses, lawnmowers, sprayers, combine harvesters, forage harvesters.

An expected decrease for Italy

In our country, the agricultural market is declining steadily since 2012, and has registered a significant drop in the 2006 of 3,7% and in the 2017 is expected another drop of the 2,2% caused by the low tax of substitution of the motor pool and the low income of the farmers.

In general, there are positive prospects for the foreign markets.

This is the reason why the production prospect is expected to increase in several countries, despite the low internal demand.

The Barometer shows how the business prospects are rapidly growing in the coming months.

Meanwhile in the October of 2016 the majority of companies expected a steady market, in the 6 coming months, a majority of 53% expected a growth of its turnover in the next 6 months.
