The Carbon Steel Springs

In this article, we are going to talk about the material that we employs to create our springs, they are manufactured for being solid components inside agricultural machines like hay tedder springs, tedder springs, rakes springs and seeders springs and earth-movement machines.

Carbon steel

Carbon steel is a steel’s category and its classifications depends on the carbon percentage inside the alloy.

To obtain carbon steel, the carbon percentage inside the steel must be a maximum of 2% otherwise the alloy obtained is called cast iron.

Steel represents one of the most important product of the iron and steel industry, and there a lot of steel’s categories and charts, according to the parameters took in consideration, among: the manufacturing process, the chemical composition, mechanical characteristics, the employ, etc.

Carbon steel is the most employed steel, probably it represents the 90% of all steels.

Carbon steel is divided in two categories:

  • Soft steel
  • Hard steel

The carbon steel’s uses are countless: indeed the industrial revolution would not have happened without the availability of high quality steel at affordable prices.

Nowadays, thanks to the technology for the manufacturing and development of steel, there are different categories of raw material, each one with specific employs.

Mollificio Adriese manufactures carbon steel springs with certified quality UNI EN ISO 9001: 2008: a guarantee of the constant commitment for the innovation and the improvement of the manufacturing methods and a constant attention to the quality, in a process that actively involves all the production levels and all the company’s personnel.

Thanks to the carbon steel springs we do:

POWDER PAINTING

The painting consists in a uniform application of thermosetting powders through electrostatic deposition.

The products transit in a furnace that makes their protective layer chemically effective against corrosive atmospheric agents and at the same time improves their aesthetic.

SHOT PEENING

The shoot peening consists in covering the surfaces of the steel springs with steel spheres (thrown at high velocity) in order to increment their resistance at fatigue and their superficial hardness.

PACKAGING

The springs packaging can be done under client request, in big packs that can contain a maximum of 5000* pieces or in little boxes with a 100* pieces capacity.

*depending on the spring’s dimensions.

LABELLING

With the manufacturing of steel springs to satisfy the client needs and giving the product added value, it’s possible to attach a customized label on every spring (with logo, reference and the description of the article or the bar code) and a label on each package.

Thanks to this service, the prices are immediately recognized and optimizing the storage and selling system.

LASER IDENTIFICATION

We satisfy our client’s most demanding requests with the laser identification service.

Our new identification system, impressed permanently on the frame, can show a brand or a logo, reference and description of the article.

Thanks to this service all the problems related to the application and utilization of adhesive labels have been removed.
